We're seeking a seasoned HR Leader to join our People and Culture Team on a part-time basis (3 days/week) for 13 months to cover maternity leave. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for overseeing our day-to-day human resources practices and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with our leadership team on key organizational, management, and operational issues.
  • Lead a team of HR professionals, establishing direction, setting objectives, hiring and training new team members, assessing performance, and implementing development plans.
  • Evaluate and optimize HR systems, tools, processes, and metrics to create efficiencies and data-driven insights.
  • Work with business leaders to apply group-level HR strategies, programs, and values consistently across all business entities.
  • Oversee and manage the HR budget.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Oversee employer branding and recruiting efforts, ensuring the proper leadership, structure, roles, and accountabilities are in place and effectively engaged.
  • Collaborate with our leadership team to understand talent needs, guiding headcount planning to ensure we have the necessary human resources to deliver on our strategic business objectives.
  • Support the creation of job descriptions, full-cycle recruitment, and onboarding of new hires.

Culture Champion:

  • Lead employee engagement activities throughout the year, including diversity celebrations and initiatives.
  • Drive the employee engagement survey and provide analytical insights to our senior leadership team to formulate action plans for continuous improvement.

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for escalated employee concerns and inquiries.
  • Address and resolve complex employee concerns and disputes, ensuring adherence to employment laws, company policies, and organizational values.
  • Coach leaders in effective management strategies, recommending supports and programs for further development where appropriate.
  • Lead the annual performance review cycle, providing coaching and training to leaders, and ensuring timely completion of reviews.
  • Assist in the development of performance review plans.

Compliance & Policy Management:

  • Develop, update, and maintain HR policies and programs in compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the administration of benefits and leave programs, acting as the main point of contact for vendors and brokers.
  • Lead the offboarding process.
  • Manage immigration inquiries and requirements for the LMIA, BCPNP, etc.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the executive team and all departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • The ability to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing space for your team.
  • Passion for creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • A good understanding of the challenges of the Tech Industry.
  • A great sense of humor and a positive mindset.
  • CPHR certification preferred.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now & WorkTango.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

We offer a hybrid work environment to balance flexibility and collaboration. This position is based in our Richmond, BC office and requires on-premises work 2 days a week. When not in the office, employees have the opportunity to work remotely. The pay range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 depending on experience.
