Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Porter to join our Food and Beverage team at CB Canada. As a Banquet Porter, you will be responsible for setting up banquet rooms and theaters, as well as serving food and beverages to guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Room and Table Setup: Assist with setting up banquet rooms and theaters, including moving furniture and ensuring everything is in place for a seamless event.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Properly clean and maintain meeting rooms, banquet functions, and service corridors to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests.
  • Buffet and Coffee Station Setup: Set up and maintain buffet stations and coffee stations, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available and easily accessible.
  • Serving and Bartending: Serve food and beverages to guests in a prompt and courteous manner, checking to ensure satisfaction and making adjustments as needed.
  • Stocking and Restocking: Stock room supplies, such as linen, pads, pens/pencils, and mints, as required, and restock as necessary.
  • Clearing Tables: Clear tables, remove glasses, and restock as required to ensure a clean and organized environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other servers as needed and communicate effectively with all operational departments to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a Food and Beverage environment, with banquet experience an asset.
  • Certifications: Serving It Right, Smart Serve, or IGB certification, or the ability to obtain a Serving It Right Certification.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative and team-oriented, with a focus on working together to achieve a common goal.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, with a focus on flexibility and a positive attitude.
