The Position

We are seeking a Child and Youth Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will build relationships and trust with the youth, provide care to enhance areas of competence, and work to develop skills in individual areas of need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage the youth with intentional practice, recreation, life skills, community involvement, and therapeutic programming.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each youth.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for the youth.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment that promotes the youth's physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
Requirements
  • Must be 18-30 years old.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Having a current (within 12 months) Alberta Intervention Record Check is highly preferred.
  • Having a current (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector is highly preferred.
  • Having a First Aid and CPR/AED 'C' certification is highly preferred.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Knowledge of Harm Reduction, strength-based practice, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted).
  • A clean driver's abstract containing not more than two (2) minor offences or one (1) major offence.
