About the RoleThe Child and Youth Support Worker will build relationships and trust with at-risk youth, providing care and support to enhance their areas of competence. This role involves engaging youth in intentional practice, recreation, life skills, community involvement, and therapeutic programming.
Key Responsibilities- Build relationships and trust with at-risk youth
- Provide care and support to enhance areas of competence
- Engage youth in intentional practice, recreation, life skills, community involvement, and therapeutic programming
To be successful in this role, you must be:
- 18-30 years old
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Having a current (within 12 months) Alberta Intervention Record Check (highly preferred)
- Having a current (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector (highly preferred)
- Having a First Aid and CPR/AED 'C' certification (highly preferred)
We are looking for individuals with:
- Knowledge of Harm Reduction, strength-based practice, and trauma-informed care
- Experience in working with at-risk youth (considered an asset)
- A valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted)
- A clean driver's abstract containing not more than two (2) minor offences or one (1) major offence
