About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Performance Consultant to join our Canada team at ERM Group. The successful candidate will take a supporting role on a range of social performance tasks, including baseline data collection and research, and socio-economic monitoring, related to the mining, energy, and other sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a wide variety of socio-economic projects related to mining, energy, and other sectors, including design and implementation of data collection methodologies, data compilation and analysis, and data visualization.
  • Conduct extensive quantitative data collection from various public sources, including Statistics Canada, BC Stats, and other datasets.
  • Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets, calculate basic statistics, and prepare easy-to-understand visual tools.
  • Support research, note-taking, report writing, and data collection and survey fieldwork.
  • Collaborate with other ERM practitioners to execute projects and participate on project teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, social science, public health, resource management, or a similar degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in socio-economic data collection and compilation, and conducting research, analysis, and interpretations.
  • Solid grasp of key social and economic topics related to population, employment, and economy, community well-being, and infrastructure and services.
  • Experience working with datasets and databases available in public sources.
  • Ability to use Excel proficiently and strong attention to detail in data quality and accuracy.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and programming skills in statistical software are an asset.
