Social Performance Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Performance Consultant to join our team at Environmental Resources Management (ERM). The successful candidate will take a supporting role on a range of social performance tasks, including baseline data collection and research, and socio-economic monitoring, related to the mining, energy, and other sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Support a wide variety of socio-economic projects related to mining, energy, and other sectors, including design and implementation of data collection methodologies, data compilation and analysis, and development of recommendations for clients.
- Conduct extensive quantitative data collection from various public sources, work with large and complex databases, and develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Support research, note-taking, report writing, undertaking and organizing data collection and survey fieldwork, data and literature review, and development of recommendations for clients.
- Support project management activities, including health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, management of schedule and budget.
- Collaborate with other ERM practitioners to execute projects and deepen relationships with ERM key clients to expand ERM's profile and market share.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, social science, public health, resource management, or a similar degree. Masters degree (or higher) preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in socio-economic data collection and compilation, and conducting research, analysis, and interpretations in Canada and/or internationally.
- Solid grasp of the key social and economic topics related to population, employment, and economy, community well-being, and infrastructure and services.
- Experience working with datasets and databases available in public sources such as Statistics Canada, BC Stats, Nunavut Bureau of Statistics, and other.
- Ability to use Excel proficiently to organize data, complete statistical calculations, lookup and match data, and prepare figures and tables.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI; programming skills in statistical software such as Stata or R are an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards of work.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including exceptional writing skills.
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency in another language (particularly French or Spanish) is an asset.
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.
- Valid driver's license required.
