Event Coordinator

Job Summary
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is seeking a highly skilled Event Manager to join our team. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing events, conferences, and exhibitions with precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Develop and manage event budgets, forecasts, and financial reconciliations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders.
- Lead pre- and post-event meetings to ensure successful event execution.
- Document and communicate event details using event management software.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
Leadership and Teamwork
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Facilitate biweekly departmental meetings to maintain open communication.
- Resolve client issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement and uphold organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in event management.
- CMP, CEM, or other industry designation preferred.
- Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage event budgets, forecast costs, and financial reconciliation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
