Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support our environmental projects. This role involves collaborating closely with Project Managers and senior field technicians to execute various tasks, including:

  • Coordinating and overseeing groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, test pitting, borehole drilling, and the installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols and quality standards throughout all field operations and documentation.
  • Assisting in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules while ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Supporting project management activities such as invoicing, budget oversight, file management, and tracking project timelines and deliverables.
  • Operating and maintaining field equipment, including sampling pumps and flow meters.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and drawings, and providing recommendations based on field inspection and sampling data.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a background in engineering, geoscience, or environmental technology, with experience in contaminated site investigation, remediation, or environmental liability assessment. Key qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in environmental technology, environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in conducting environmental site investigations, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Familiarity with Alberta's environmental legislation.
  • Proficiency in soil and groundwater sampling techniques.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, including safety oversight and coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • A willingness to conduct fieldwork in various conditions, including adverse weather.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends when necessary.
