Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Field Technician to support our ongoing projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers and senior field technicians on various tasks, including:

  • Coordinating and managing groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, test pitting, borehole drilling, and installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and quality standards during all field operations and reporting.
  • Assisting in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Supporting project management activities such as invoicing, budget tracking, and organization of project files.
  • Operating and maintaining field equipment, including sampling pumps and flow meters.
  • Preparing detailed reports and drawings, along with actionable recommendations based on field data.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a background in engineering, geoscience, or environmental technology, with relevant experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation. Key qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's degree or college diploma in environmental technology, environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in conducting environmental site investigations, particularly in Alberta.
  • Familiarity with Alberta's environmental legislation.
  • Proficiency in soil and groundwater sampling techniques.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, including oversight of safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and excellent communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork in varying conditions and occasionally during non-standard hours.
