Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional to support our environmental projects. This role involves collaboration with Project Managers and senior field technicians to execute various field activities, including:
- Coordinating groundwater monitoring and soil sampling efforts.
- Managing test pitting and borehole drilling operations.
- Installing groundwater monitoring wells and tabulating environmental data.
- Interpreting environmental data and coordinating field subcontractors.
- Ensuring thorough reporting and documentation of all activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and quality assurance processes throughout all fieldwork and reporting.
- Assist in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
- Support project management functions, including invoicing, budget tracking, and file organization.
- Operate and maintain field equipment such as sampling pumps and flow meters.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and drawings, providing recommendations based on field inspection data.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a background in engineering, geoscience, or environmental technology, with experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation. Additional qualifications include:
- A degree or diploma in environmental technology, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in environmental site investigations, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Familiarity with Alberta's environmental legislation.
- Proficiency in soil and groundwater sampling techniques.
- Experience managing subcontractors, with a focus on coordination and safety oversight.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork in varying conditions and during non-standard hours, including weekends.
