Position Overview

As a vital member of our team at Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo, the Room Cleaning Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest accommodations and public areas.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough cleaning of floors, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing.
  • Dust and sanitize furniture and fixtures to ensure a pristine environment.
  • Vacuum carpets, area rugs, drapes, and upholstered items.
  • Prepare guest rooms by making beds and changing linens.
  • Provide fresh towels and toiletries for guests.
  • Organize and replenish supplies in the linen closet.
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen and bathroom areas, including fixtures and appliances.
  • Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic areas such as elevators.
  • Address guest requests for additional supplies or amenities.
  • Manage waste by picking up debris and emptying trash bins.
  • Assist guests with personal hygiene needs when necessary.
  • Launder and mend clothing and linens as required.
  • Conduct light cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to uphold cleanliness standards.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks, including repetitive motions and extended periods of standing, walking, and bending.

Employment Details
