About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at the Nanaimo Family Life Association. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture, make beds, and change sheets.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, pick up debris, and empty trash containers.
  • Laundry and Linens: Launder clothing and household linens.
  • Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Work in a residential setting, possibly in a client's home or a community service organization.
  • Transportation: Own vehicle and valid driver's license required.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
