About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Room Attendant to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our guest rooms and public areas.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture, make beds and change sheets, and stock linen closets.
  • Guest Services: Distribute clean towels and toiletries, handle and report lost and found items, and attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items.
  • Laundry and Linen: Launder clothing and household linens, mend clothing and linens, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Health and Safety: Clean and disinfect kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, disinfect operating rooms and other areas, and clean and disinfect elevators.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work independently, fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, sitting, standing for extended periods, and walking.
