Bilingual LTD Claims Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Consultant to join our team at Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP). As a Claims Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional service to our members, ensuring that their long-term disability claims are processed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Processing: You will be responsible for processing long-term disability claims, including reviewing and analyzing medical information, assessing claims, and making informed decisions.
- Member Communication: You will communicate with members to gather information, provide updates, and address any concerns they may have regarding their claims.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including medical professionals, union representatives, and other insurance companies, to ensure that claims are processed smoothly and efficiently.
- Process Improvement: You will identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance the overall claims experience for our members.
- Training and Development: You will participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
- Education: You must have a post-secondary education and a minimum of five years of experience in group disability insurance.
- Knowledge and Skills: You must have a strong knowledge of insurance principles and practices, industry standards, and legal and contractual obligations. You must also have exceptional communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Language Skills: Fluency in French is considered an asset.
