Position Overview:

The National Auto Claims Manager at Curo Claims Services Inc. plays a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive auto claims process for policyholders. This position requires a strong understanding of the evolving landscape of legislation and regulations affecting auto insurance claims, ensuring that all claims are handled in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement quality management principles to enhance operational efficiency and productivity, aligning processes with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Ensure fair and equitable claim resolutions by guiding claims adjusters through the phases of investigation, evaluation, and communication with clients.
  • Utilize management information systems to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to senior management regarding operational trends and cost control measures.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Act as a consultant on matters of liability assessment, claims investigation, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Oversee performance management by setting clear expectations, tracking progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Establish and uphold standards for claims quality and customer service, conducting audits and recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Foster relationships with auto insurance representatives and external vendors to ensure compliance and value delivery to policyholders.
  • Manage departmental functions and facilitate educational initiatives to promote continuous learning within the team.
  • Authorize settlements and manage individual settlement authority in line with company policies.
  • Address customer complaints by investigating issues and implementing resolutions in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements regarding complaint tracking and management.
  • Guarantee that client services are accessible in both English and French to meet operational needs.
  • Monitor the utilization of external service providers and recommend enhancements to improve service delivery.
  • Maintain a manageable workload as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates who possess:

  • A degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation; Financial Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation is a plus.
  • An active adjuster's license.
  • A minimum of four years of comprehensive claims adjusting experience across multiple lines.
  • At least five years in a supervisory or coaching capacity.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian regulatory environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across various business levels.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities to handle competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general software applications.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
