Position Overview

We are in search of dedicated individuals who are passionate about building meaningful relationships with adults. Our team members assist individuals in enhancing their life skills and accessing community services. Comprehensive paid training will be provided, focusing on positive behavior support and crisis intervention techniques.

This is a unionized role with competitive compensation, including a pay rate of $28.75 per hour, along with benefits and a Pension Plan for permanent positions of 20 hours or more per week.

Role Responsibilities

The Community Support Worker (CSW) is responsible for providing assistance to adults with developmental challenges in a residential environment. CSWs aid individuals in developing daily living skills and ensure their physical needs are met through tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration in line with established protocols. Furthermore, CSWs will utilize their training in positive behavior support to offer stability and consistent guidance to those they support.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • A diploma in human/social services or a related field, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Negative TB test clearance.
  • Food Safe Certification.
  • Current Health Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Class 7N, Class 5, or, where applicable, Class 4 unrestricted driver's license.
  • Current and clear Driver's Abstract.
  • Mandt Certification (training available upon successful application).
  • Criminal Record Check for Children and Vulnerable Adults (Provincial).
