Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine Method of Shipment: Research and select the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods for our products.
  • Schedule Distribution of Goods: Coordinate with our suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Schedule Transportation Conveyances: Arrange for the transportation of goods to and from our facility.
  • Prepare Shipping Documents: Create and manage bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Inspect and Verify Incoming Goods: Check incoming goods against invoices and other documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain Internal Record-Keeping System: Keep accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory.
  • Record Shortages and Reject Damaged Goods: Identify and document any shortages or damaged goods.
  • Route Goods to Appropriate Storage Areas: Ensure that goods are stored in a safe and secure manner.
  • Pack Goods to be Shipped: Prepare goods for shipment by packing and labeling them correctly.
  • Unpack Goods Received: Unpack and inspect goods received from suppliers.
  • Affix Identifying Information and Shipping Instructions: Label goods with identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Oversee Loading and Unloading of Goods: Supervise the loading and unloading of goods from vehicles.
  • Supervise Material Handlers and Helpers: Manage a team of material handlers and helpers to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Pay and Receive Payments for Goods: Process payments for goods received and paid for.
