Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary education, with preference for Business/Office Administration training
  • At least two years of relevant experience in payroll and scheduling within a unionized setting preferred
  • Proven customer service and communication skills, adept at managing sensitive issues with tact
  • Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Meditech)
  • Strong analytical and leadership capabilities required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated organizational and teamwork skills
  • Reliable work and attendance history required
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and scheduling practices necessary
  • Knowledge of scheduling software is advantageous

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee staffing operations within the department
  • Efficiently manage daily staff requests
  • Process employee leave requests
  • Ensure coverage for vacant shifts
  • Maintain an accurate tracking system for staff across various shifts
  • Monitor employee hours in accordance with the Collective Agreement
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders for onboarding and training schedules
  • Document and track all staff training
  • Execute payroll functions for large Corporate Services teams
  • Work with Team Leaders and Managers to ensure payroll accuracy
  • Develop a six-week schedule for all Corporate Services teams
  • Respond to phone inquiries from within and outside the organization
  • Provide frontline service to all customers, ensuring follow-up on tasks and requests
  • Generate and compile various reports, input schedules, and adjust rosters as needed
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned
