About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Capital Program Planner to promote the integrity of its building infrastructure. This role will work closely with the Director of Maintenance & Operations and other stakeholders to ensure the safety, clinical operational effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness of the organization's architectural systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align planning efforts with the organization's strategic objectives and medium- and long-term health care plans.
  • Develop and coordinate the three NSH Capital Programs: Repair & Renewal, Capital Medical Equipment, and Clinical Capital.
  • Coordinate with peers and management to plan and implement the three NSH Capital Programs.
  • Contribute to the preliminary assessment of requirements for Major Capital program projects.
  • Coordinate with Major Capital Program initiatives of other Departments in support of NSH.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and significant planning experience, preferably in health care. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in architectural systems assessment, planning, design, and specification development, as well as 6 years of experience in all aspects of capital program development and implementation.

The successful candidate will have current knowledge of the Building Code, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental regulations, and ASHRAE standards. They will also have the ability to effectively prioritize and address simultaneous customer concerns while maintaining adherence to standards and resolving potentially conflicting demands.

Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.
