Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a proficient and seasoned Procurement Manager to enhance our operations in either Calgary or Toronto. As a prominent national law firm, we prioritize delivering outstanding service to our clients, where effective procurement plays a vital role in our success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and executing our procurement strategies to ensure optimal cost management, quality assurance, and operational efficiency. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute detailed procurement policies that align with the firm's objectives and strategic goals.
- Oversee national purchasing activities, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and relationship management.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and relevant legal standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all offices to align procurement initiatives with operational requirements.
- Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, pricing structures, and quality standards.
- Analyze procurement data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline. A procurement certification, such as CPSM, is advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a procurement role.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and make informed decisions based on data.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
