Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in either Calgary or Toronto. This pivotal role is essential in ensuring that our procurement operations align with our commitment to delivering outstanding service to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and implementing procurement strategies that prioritize cost-effectiveness, quality, and operational efficiency. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive procurement policies that align with the firm's strategic goals and operational needs.
- Oversee national purchasing activities, including sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and relevant legal standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all offices to synchronize procurement efforts with operational requirements.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify and assess potential suppliers based on their capabilities, pricing, and quality.
- Analyze procurement data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain meticulous records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline. A procurement certification, such as CPSM, is advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a procurement capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Adept at analyzing data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
