About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical member of our healthcare delivery team, you will play a vital role in providing non-direct and non-clinical healthcare supports to clients, residents, families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Care
    • Establish and maintain rapport with clients, residents, and families to promote physical, emotional, cultural, social, and spiritual well-being.
    • Observe clients and residents, and their environments, to identify and report unsafe conditions, behavioral, and/or physical changes to designated supervisors.
  • Mealtime Support
    • Assist with mealtime activities, including setting up, welcoming, and transporting clients or residents to dining areas.
    • Set up and collect meal trays, and assist with limited food preparation, such as heating prepared food, making tea, coffee, toast, etc.
  • Activity Support
    • Provide assistance in carrying out activities, including setting up supplies and equipment, and transporting clients or residents to designated areas.
    • Encourage participation in activities and provide support to clients or residents where required.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance
    • Perform housekeeping duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, and washing, drying, folding, and delivering laundry, where required.
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Greet visitors and others in accordance with established safety, security, and infection control procedures and guidelines.
    • Provide information and/or redirect to appropriate person or area, where required.
  • Supply Management
    • Check and restock supplies as required, including personal care, first aid, and housekeeping supplies.
    • Assist in taking inventory.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Grade 10, including successful completion of English 10 or standardized English language proficiency test score from an authorized assessment centre.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to deal with others effectively.
    • Ability to organize work.
    • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
    • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Certifications and Clearances
    • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
    • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive wage leveling rate of pay $24.08 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates.
