About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Support Worker to join our team at Shelina Harji. As a Home Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Household Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, including laundry and meal preparation, to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in activities that promote their physical and mental well-being.
  • Medication Management: Assist clients with medication administration, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of clients by monitoring their environment and responding to any emergencies or concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, such as healthcare or social services.
  • Certifications: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
Work Environment

As a Home Support Worker with Shelina Harji, you will work in a fast-paced environment, often in clients' homes, and may be required to work overtime. You will be expected to handle heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions.
