Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assurance Manager to join our Private Client Services team at RSM Canada LLP. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse client engagements and contribute to our national practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional client service, including coordination of review engagements, compilations of financial statements, and related disclosures.
  • Assess risk and design procedures to engagement teams.
  • Utilize RSM's review, compilation, and audit methodology to deliver high-quality results.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.
  • Supervise engagement teams, monitor productivity, and adhere to work plan schedules.
  • Maintain client relationships throughout the year, understanding the impact of significant developments on current year engagements.
  • Develop others within the Firm through training, advising on career development, and participating in Firm initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry publications and share relevant information with clients.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Develop a strategy to utilize relationships external to the firm to effectuate business growth.
  • Manage profitability of projects and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education and stay current with latest developments affecting GAAP and Firm standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Active CPA designation in good standing.
  • 5+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring associates.
  • Understanding of compilation, review, audit, and tax services with knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A successful record of directing and deploying staff and senior associates on multiple, simultaneous engagements.
