We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Translator-Editor to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a Technical Translator-Editor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Construction Research Centre by translating and editing technical documents from English to French.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in translation and editing, with a focus on technical and legal documents. You will be responsible for producing high-quality translations and editing contract translations, as well as performing other duties as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Translate technical and legal documents from English to French
- Edit contract translations and other documents as required
- Work collaboratively with a team of editors, translators, and IT specialists
- Ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in Translation (from English to French)
- Recent experience (at least one year in the last five years) in translation of technical or legal documents from English to French
- Recent experience (at least one year in the last five years) in French editing of technical or legal documents
- Recent experience (at least one year in the last five years) in the use of terminology banks and computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools
As a Technical Translator-Editor at the National Research Council Canada, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $70,852 to $95,230 per annum, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental plans, vacation, sick, and other leave entitlements, disability insurance, and pension plans.
