About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with conveyor systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
  • Assist with projects related to facilities, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations.
  • Operate aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lifts, and powered industrial trucks (reach, order picker, stand up, pallet runners, stock chaser, etc.)
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and supplies.
  • Travel to other Wayfair sites up to 20% of the time.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience in industrial maintenance or relevant certification(s).
  • Experience with basic carpentry, including painting, drywall, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
  • Proficient using hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment, including PLC systems.
  • Proficient using computer systems and CMMS software.
  • Experienced safely using warehouse equipment, such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists, and stand and walk for long periods.
  • Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can be noisy and have low lighting levels.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take direction.
  • Must be a safety-conscious, motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
