Financial Reporting Manager

The Cahill Group is on the lookout for skilled candidates for the position of Divisional Accounting Manager. This role is integral to our Finance team, focusing on the preparation and presentation of comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. As a Divisional Accounting Manager, you will also be involved in managing capital assets, handling prepaids, and conducting reconciliations.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and presenting both divisional and consolidated reports in a timely manner. Effective communication with Project Managers is essential to assist with work-in-progress reporting, and you will also engage with clients and vendors while maintaining the utmost professionalism and confidentiality. This is a permanent role, operating Monday through Friday from our corporate office.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  2. Development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for divisional and consolidated reports.
  3. Collaboration with budget representatives on a quarterly basis for analysis and reporting.
  4. Conducting job cost reviews and variance analyses.
  5. Assisting with capital asset management, prepaids, and preparing or reviewing tax information returns, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations.
  6. Preparation of year-end working papers and coordination with external auditors.
  7. Working closely with Project Managers to ensure the accuracy of work-in-progress, costing, and invoicing for monthly reports.
  8. Maintaining overall accuracy of the general ledger and divisional records through monthly reviews.
  9. Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of 5 years of financial experience in a multi-company construction setting.
  2. A degree in Business Administration or Commerce, along with a completed Professional Accounting Designation.
  3. Experience in construction, real estate, or healthcare sectors is considered an asset.
  4. Strong attention to detail.
  5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  6. Commitment to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of company, supplier, and subcontractor information.
