The Cahill Group is on the lookout for skilled candidates for the position of Divisional Accounting Manager. This role is integral to our Finance team, where you will contribute significantly to the development and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Your responsibilities will also encompass capital asset oversight, prepaid expenses, and account reconciliations.
As a Divisional Accounting Manager, you will be tasked with the preparation, analysis, and timely presentation of divisional and consolidated financial reports. Effective communication with Project Managers will be essential to support work-in-progress reporting, alongside maintaining professional relationships with clients and vendors while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for divisional and consolidated reports.
- Collaboration with budget representatives for analysis and reporting on a quarterly basis.
- Conducting job cost reviews and variance analyses.
- Assisting in capital asset management, prepaid expenses, tax information returns, intercompany reconciliations, and account reconciliations.
- Preparation of year-end working papers and coordination with external auditors.
- Collaboration with Project Managers to ensure the accuracy of work-in-progress, costing, and invoicing for monthly reports.
- Maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger and divisional accounts through regular reviews.
- Performing additional duties as required.
- A minimum of 5 years of financial experience in a multi-company construction setting.
- A degree in Business Administration or Commerce, along with a recognized Professional Accounting Designation.
- Experience in construction, real estate, or healthcare sectors is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of company, supplier, and subcontractor information.
