Job Title: Grants Officer

Good Shepherd Centres is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grants Officer to join our Fundraising and Public Relations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing fundraising activities, grant and sponsorship identification, and solicitation to generate additional resources needed to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with donors and stakeholders to provide timely and effective responses to their enquiries and address them in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Research and identify potential corporate and foundation funders to develop new donor relationships and collaborate with the Director, Fundraising and Public Relations.
  • Develop and write compelling proposals and applications to secure funding from corporate partners, charitable foundations, and individuals.
  • Ensure all reporting requirements are met to sustain and strengthen partnerships.
  • Develop recognition programs to acknowledge donor support and produce impact reports for funders.
  • Analyze grant and sponsorship patterns to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Market and promote Good Shepherd Centres through personal contact with the public, volunteers, and donors, and attend expositions, seminars, and fundraising events as assigned.
  • Work cross-functionally with team members to prepare and manage donor information for various fundraising activities.
  • Provide prospect profiles, statistical information, outcomes, and potential sources of funding to the Board of Directors for consideration.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three years of fundraising experience with a demonstrated ability to project positively and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in successful major gift solicitation.
  • Superior written communication skills to produce proposals and other correspondence.
  • Proven aptitude in relationship management and donor development.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a hospitable and respectful demeanor.
  • Ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining high efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines, prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Experience interfacing between databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems.
  • Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Publisher, working knowledge of Raiser's Edge software program, and ability to work in a cloud environment.
