Position Overview

The Newmarket Keg Steakhouse & Bar is seeking a dedicated Head Chef to oversee our kitchen operations. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our culinary offerings.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of post-secondary education in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
Work Environment

This position is based in a restaurant setting, providing a dynamic and fast-paced atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Analyze operating costs and other relevant data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff.
  • Develop and create innovative recipes to enhance our menu.
  • Oversee the training and development of kitchen personnel.
  • Plan and design menus ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Recruit and hire qualified kitchen staff.
  • Manage the requisition of food and kitchen supplies.
