About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at The Newmarket Keg Steakhouse & Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement new menu items and specials to drive sales and increase customer satisfaction
    • Work with our culinary team to ensure that all menu items are prepared to the highest standards
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other support staff
    • Ensure that all kitchen operations are running smoothly and efficiently, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage our inventory of food and kitchen supplies to minimize waste and ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and equipment to meet our menu demands
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop our kitchen staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles
    • Provide coaching and feedback to our kitchen staff to help them improve their performance and achieve their goals
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Degree in Culinary Arts or related field
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a head chef or executive chef in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in menu planning, kitchen operations, and staff management
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
