Job Summary

Gannett Fleming is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in the areas of infrastructure solutions. The successful candidate will assist in the supervision of transit facilities construction projects, ensuring that the requirements of the contract documents are fulfilled in a safe and quality manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and review work materials and construction methods to ensure compliance with contract documents and industry standards.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports for active construction contracts, as well as other standard construction administration documents.
  • Issue contract deficiency reports and nonconformance reports, including follow-up on required corrective actions.
  • Observe and report on contractual and non-contractual infractions of safety, security, and operational interference.
  • Provide inspection expertise in structural, civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical disciplines, and follow up with technical discipline leads when required.
  • Liaise between contractors, clients, utility companies, local municipalities, and other external agencies.
  • Monitor all aspects of construction work activities, including environmental compliance and recording of progress and as-constructed details for project closeout.
  • Review contractor claims, schedule compliance, and proposed work methodologies.
  • Undertake compliance audits and provide reports to clients.
  • Observe commissioning and handover of infrastructure to ensure all contract requirements are fulfilled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in construction management and contract administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising construction sites, field engineering, site work inspections, and work progress measurements.
  • Demonstrated on-site construction inspection and contract administration experience.
  • Experience with reviewing contractor claims regarding cost and schedule.
  • Experience in reviewing contractor submittals and work methodologies.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and reporting.
  • Must be comfortable in both professional office and field work environments.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of pertinent Federal, Provincial, and local laws, codes, and standards.
  • Proven understanding of industry standards within construction, Health and Safety codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license required.
