Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at New Flyer. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by ensuring the smooth delivery and maintenance of our buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accept and service bus deliveries to our customers, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in warranty situations, complete retrofits, and gather product failure information.
  • Train and educate customers on the use and maintenance of our buses.
  • Travel to work site locations as assigned, completing training and maintaining a toolset sufficient for repair work.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all OEM systems, assist suppliers in troubleshooting, and perform retrofit work as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain service vehicles, organize and lead retrofit crews, and communicate assignment status daily.
  • Act as interim site manager during RPSM absence, report issues affecting New Flyer product or business, and maintain tracking documents.
  • Review iBus website regularly and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School, Trade School, or equivalent.
  • 5 years' work experience or equivalent.
  • Diagnostics tools, hand tools, and certifications in transit bus electrical, mechanical, air system, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, CAN/J1939, 608, and ASE transit certifications.
  • CDL license and ability to perform workman/mechanic duties.
