Job Title: IT Field Service Technician

We are currently hiring for a contract I.T. Field Service Technician position in Winnipeg, MB. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in this role and a strong knowledge of Windows 7. Experience with Desktop Support, Laptops, Servers, Printers, Hardware Support, and IMAC is required. POS experience is a plus but not necessary.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.
  • Document, maintain, upgrade, or replace hardware and software systems.
  • Support user account information, including rights, security, and systems groups.
  • Train employees, identify and repair product failures, order and replace parts as needed.
  • Determine and recommend products or services that best fit the customers' needs.
Requirements:
  • Available to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings, for the duration of the contract.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma and college or university enrollment/degree.
  • 2+ years of experience working as a break/fix Field IT technician and/or lead break/fix Field IT technician.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of hardware and Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.
  • Experience with building PCs, user migration, UAT, and training.
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end-user procedures.
  • Familiar with personal computers, printers, wireless connectivity devices.
  • Possession and use of an owned car for travel between locations.
  • Android 4.4+ or Apple iOS9+ or Windows Phone 8+ with a data package to receive emails and instant messaging.
  • Ability to lift a 20 lbs. box from the floor to a tabletop surface.
Nice to Have:
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or information technologies or 7-10 years equivalent work experience.
  • CompTIA A+ certifications.
  • Cisco or Microsoft certifications.
