About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Sales Manager to join our team in Canada. This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding our customer base, and developing strategic partnerships with key retailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Elevate Customer Engagement & Influence
    • Elevate our engagement and influence with select strategic customers, in close partnership with our brokers.
    • Attend and lead top customer presentations
    • Understand customer reset timing and communicate closely with internal team to create product launch schedules
    • Waterfall total Canada sales and channel goals into specific customer goals and create vehicles for effective tracking
    • Working with marketing, develop targeted shopper marketing campaigns with key customers
    • Coordinate omni channel messaging, working with ecommerce team shopper marketing, events, promotions and pricing
    • Provide customer and channel input into the organization
    • Participate in new product and item development by providing customer input to optimize packaging, assortment, pricing, etc.
    • Represent CA sales voice and knowledge at key cross functional meetings
  • Collaborative Broker Partnership
    • Provide clear guidance and strategic direction to execute our growth pillars with our Broker partners sales teams
    • Develop & refine KPI targets to motivate and drive accountability
    • Establish trusting communication rhythm with brokers sales teams, translating into realistic execution plans and forecasting alignment
  • Trade & Revenue Management
    • Leadership on key facets of Canada sales trade and revenue forecasting
    • Develop enhanced revenue and trade spend forecasting processes
    • Work with Sales Strategy & Planning team to develop reporting processes against distribution, merchandising and spending
    • Provide recommended pricing actions by channel to optimize profitability
    • Ensure communication of pricing actions to the sales team for customer execution. Manage channel pricing conflicts and analysis
    Requirements
    • Strong foundation of Canadian retailer landscape and competitive environment
    • Ability to create and deliver strong presentations
    • Selling skills, ability to prepare and organize a team in a complex environment motivate both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Sales forecasting and analysis experience in a complex customer environment
    • Effectively utilizes sales tools, such as trade management and revenue forecasting programs
    • Differentiates & overcomes objections
    • Strong analytic skills with the ability to analyze, interpret and develop recommendations/solutions
    • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills and the Ability to work independently as well as with crossfunctional partners at various levels and thrive within a dynamic environment
    • Strong business insight is a requirement, proven understanding of Manufacturer and Retailer profitability
    • Willingness to roll up their sleeves to do whatever it takes to get the job done
    • Resultsoriented individual with strong business acumen
    • Very collaborative and works with and through others to achieve common goals and desired results, especially proven track record working with Brokers
    • Must have strong expertise working with customer POS data and syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, Retail Link, LDIA, etc)
    • Expertise using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Master's degree a plus
    • Minimum 5 years of CPG experience in Sales & Trade Marketing
    • Top 4 Canadian retailer exposure (LCL, Walmart, Sobeys, Metro)
    • Broker management experience
    • Accelerated growth environment, food industry, and natural products experience strongly preferred.
