We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Compliance Team Leader to become a vital part of our Customer Division. This position will report directly to the Manager of Customer Experience, overseeing the Contact Centre, Branches, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee frameworks for policy and audit processes to comply with the requirements set forth by relevant regulatory bodies such as the Australian Tax Office (ATO), Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA), and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
  • Maintain oversight and knowledge of CRS and FATCA, particularly concerning reporting obligations, procedural management, and data collection.
  • Interpret regulations and provide guidance on compliance matters while remaining updated on regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Manage audit processes and reporting, fostering continuous improvement in systems and procedures.
  • Evaluate compliance incidents and collaborate with relevant departments to ensure appropriate remediation and mitigate future risks.
  • Deliver compliance requirements efficiently and effectively.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Analyze and interpret data across various systems.
  • Oversee daily operations of compliance team activities.
  • Review and manage existing policies, procedures, and documentation processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant industry experience are preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend raw data, analyze trends, and prepare insightful reports and recommendations.
  • A solid understanding of CRS and FATCA requirements is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in setting priorities and meeting deadlines effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance processes and systems within the banking and financial sector is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CRM systems.
  • A growth mindset with the capacity to design and implement formalized frameworks for documenting new processes.
