DevOps Team Leader

Position Overview: As the DevOps Team Leader, you will oversee the DevOps operations and the team responsible for executing them across a suite of products. Your role will involve collaborating closely with engineers and architects to develop and automate software deployment processes that align with business objectives. You should possess experience in managing multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead multiple DevOps system teams, establishing objectives and working towards achieving roadmap targets.
- Regularly assess existing systems against industry benchmarks and propose enhancements.
- Ensure that cloud expenditures for the managed products are optimized and justifiable.
- Engage with DevOps leadership to stay informed about goals and roadmaps, sharing knowledge and collaborating across various functions and departments.
- Communicate effectively with direct reports, peers in management, customers, and vendors to interpret data and enhance cross-functional processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous innovation within the team.
- Guide, mentor, and develop team members through onboarding, open dialogue, training, and performance management, while also maintaining high employee morale and motivation. Ensure the team is well-staffed with the necessary skills and promotes a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring remote engineering teams.
- Over 8 years of experience in Engineering or Operations support for Agile development teams, preferably using Kanban.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across multiple teams and departments.
- Extensive experience with cloud hosting infrastructure in multi-cloud environments, particularly GCP.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code in GCP, ideally using Terraform.
- A keen interest in security, with a focus on identifying areas for improvement.
- Knowledge of development best practices and methodologies, including test-driven development, behavior-driven testing, continuous integration, and static analysis.
- Demonstrated people management experience with a commitment to employee development.
- Experience in orchestrating process improvements that enhance efficiency in people, processes, and technology.
- Ability to develop monitoring solutions that provide comprehensive visibility into various product components using tools like ELK or Prometheus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and a passion for collaboration in a multicultural environment.
