Job Summary

We are seeking a local Yellowknife resident to fill the role of Expeditor / Shop Assistant at our Yellowknife Facility. This position will involve working in a fast-paced environment and will require strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Management
    • Disassemble, test, clean, reassemble, and re-pack equipment for deployment
    • Experience working with camp equipment is an asset
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Interact with suppliers on a day-to-day basis
    • Expedite outstanding purchase orders to keep information refreshed and up-to-date
  • Inventory Management
    • Verify receipt of material and check incoming shipments against purchase orders
    • Resolve shipment errors or shortages with the buyer
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping
    • Ensure information is easily accessible through documentation on all inbound and outbound freight
    • Account for all equipment and materials
  • Client Deliverables
    • Meet client deliverables on expediting suppliers/materials to the appropriate job site
  • Ad-Hoc Administration
    • Perform ad-hoc administration and general labor duties in the yard as required
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure all staff work safely and practice safe work practices
  • Support Services
    • Assist with submitting timesheets for all Matrix staff
    • Ensure transportation protocol is followed by all drivers
  • Inventory and Purchasing
    • Ensure inventory, purchasing, and receiving information is processed, up-to-date, accessible, and accurate
    • Review purchase requisitions to verify stock and clarify order details
  • Yard Maintenance
    • Support with loading and unloading of trailers
    • Perform yard maintenance as required

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years working in an expeditor role
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Trades experience is a valuable asset (Carpentry, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, etc.)
    • Above-average Microsoft Excel knowledge
    • Purchasing and data entry experience
    • Strong communication experience
  • Licensing and Certifications
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract required
    • Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course required
    • WHMIS 2015
    • Forklift License an asset
    • Building/trades experience
