We are currently seeking a local Yellowknife resident for the position of Expeditor / Shop Assistant at our Yellowknife Facility. This role will commence as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment-focused tasks, including disassembling, testing, cleaning, reassembling, and repacking equipment for deployment.
  • Interacting with suppliers on a daily basis to expedite purchase orders and maintain accurate information.
  • Verifying receipt of materials and resolving shipment errors or shortages with the buyer.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of inbound and outbound freight.
  • Meeting client deliverables by expediting suppliers and materials to job sites.
  • Performing ad-hoc administration and general labor duties in the yard as needed.
  • Ensuring staff work safely and practice safe work practices.
  • Assisting with submitting timesheets for Matrix staff working in the Yellowknife location.
  • Ensuring transportation protocols are followed by drivers.
  • Supporting the team to meet corporate timelines.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an expeditor role.
  • Trades experience is a valuable asset (Carpentry, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, etc.).
  • Above-average Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Purchasing and data entry experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, able to multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse, transportation, or retail industry.
  • Must be reliable and physically capable of performing job requirements.

Preferred Licensing & Certifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract.
  • Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course.
  • WHMIS 2015.
  • Forklift License is an asset.
  • Building/trades experience.
