Position Overview

  • Engage in field-based investigations to deepen the understanding of provincial bedrock geology
  • Offer specialized knowledge to operational teams and stakeholders
  • Oversee the provincial bedrock mapping initiative

As the Geologist 4, your primary responsibility will be to design and implement geological mapping surveys, employing cutting-edge tools to enhance precision and productivity. Reporting directly to the Manager of Project Operations, you will be instrumental in creating an updated provincial bedrock map.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct an advanced geoscience mapping project
  • Perform mapping, core logging, and assessment of bedrock geology
  • Gather and analyze high-quality mapping data
  • Produce geoscience publications and reports
  • Supervise field operations and project collaborators
  • Collaborate with both internal and external teams
  • Participate in program planning and assessment

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess a degree in Earth Science or Geoscience, coupled with substantial experience in bedrock mapping. A thorough understanding of Nova Scotia's geology is essential, along with strong analytical and communication abilities. Registration with Geoscientists Nova Scotia is mandatory.

Pay Grade: PR 18 Salary Range: $3,000 - $3,500 Bi-Weekly
