Aerospace Stress Analysis Manager

Job Summary:

The Aerospace Stress Analysis Manager will lead the technical activities and resources of the stress analysis engineering group, supporting various military aircraft fleets. This role requires a strong background in classical structural analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis, and finite element analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering staff.
  • Conduct analysis of aircraft structural modifications and non-standard repairs.
  • Teach and guide junior engineers in stress analysis best practices.
  • Apply project management techniques to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion of technical tasks.
  • Lead the development of technical tools and provide technical advice to customers.
  • Prepare engineering reports, plans, and studies.
  • Review staff reports for accuracy and technical content.
  • Liaise with external customers and other departments within IMP.
  • Represent IMP at technical meetings.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Plan staff workload and assess staffing requirements.
  • Monitor workload and assign manpower as needed.
  • Prepare cost estimates and statements of work.
  • Evaluate and propose new business development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer status or eligibility is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering environment, primarily dealing with aircraft.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in classical structural analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis, and finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft structure, aircraft engineering drawings, data collection systems, and analytical methods and tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and delegation skills.
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques.
