About the Role:

The Facility Maintenance Helper will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of U-Haul facilities within a designated geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of facilities, including general maintenance, installation, and service.
  • Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform clean-up duties at renovation sites.
  • Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist skilled workers in the performance of all duties when necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
