Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Building Services Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our hotel and resort.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Industrial Equipment: Safely operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and other refuse, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our guests.
- Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings, as well as making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Contractor Coordination: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
- Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair, to maintain the appearance and functionality of our facilities.
- Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained outdoor environment.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for our guests.
- Winter Maintenance: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas, ensuring safe access to our facilities.
- Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive tasks and physically demanding activities.
- Physical Capabilities: Perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Dependability: Demonstrate reliability and dependability in completing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility: Show flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and work schedules.
