About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil, Structural Engineering Manager to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Division in Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing cost-effective structural engineering designs from conceptual design to detail design, tender, and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards.
  • Performing analysis and design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Performing site visits and inspecting existing structures, evaluating and analyzing existing structures for modifications and additions, and proposing reinforcement solutions.
  • Supervising the work of designers and project teams.
  • Liaising with client representatives and general contractors directly.
  • Managing small projects primarily led by structural scope.
  • Maintaining and building upon client relationships.
  • Occasionally managing multi-discipline projects primarily led by structural scope.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized University (Master's degree would be considered an asset).
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the Province of Ontario.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of industrial and/or institutional type buildings.
  • Proven experience and confidence in structural design and certification of various building types and heights, including lateral load analysis.
  • Proficiency in design of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, and heavy concrete foundations for buildings and equipment.
  • Capable of solving more complex building structures and dynamic foundations.
  • Proficiency in application of Canadian Codes and Standards.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering design software in one or more of STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, MathCAD, RISA, etc.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and Plant 3D would be considered an asset.
  • Architectural design experience would be an asset.
  • Experienced in dealing directly with clients and contractors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products to prepare reports, specifications, presentations, and estimates.
