Position: Apptad Inc - Junior Systems Testing/QA Specialist
Location: Hybrid work model available
Duration: Long-Term Engagement

Role Overview:
This position involves supporting the Quality Assurance (QA) team in executing testing protocols and ensuring the successful completion of QA tasks. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior QA professionals to uphold best practices and contribute to the development of comprehensive testing strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist QA leads in the execution and reconciliation of tests to ensure timely and effective QA processes.
  2. Follow established QA methodologies and templates under the guidance of senior analysts.
  3. Contribute to the creation of QA test plans, test cases, and scenarios with oversight from experienced QA team members.
  4. Develop a thorough understanding of system functionalities and how changes affect overall performance.
  5. Participate in detailed testing to identify any gaps in requirements or implementation.
  6. Verify that all business rules and data specifications are accurately implemented according to established requirements.
  7. Ensure the application and system flow function as intended through rigorous testing.
  8. Prepare and manage test data while participating in data testing and reconciliation efforts.
  9. Execute test cases as per the test plan and document defects using QA testing tools.
  10. Support regression and integration testing across various system modules.
  11. Assist in functional and Accessibility Compliance testing under the supervision of senior QA personnel.
  12. Identify problems and maintain defect reports with guidance from senior staff.
  13. Document test results and provide constructive feedback to QA leads.
  14. Engage in daily stand-up meetings to collaborate with QA and project teams on progress and challenges.
  15. Contribute to the preparation of test summaries and status reports as directed.
  16. Support Change Management processes by adhering to established guidelines.
  17. Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and document insights as instructed.

Additional Duties:
  1. Collaborate with Development and cross-functional teams to resolve project and customer issues.
  2. Adhere to government software development standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Complete assigned tasks and milestones within designated timelines.
  4. Communicate any issues or concerns regarding deliverables to management in writing.
  5. Submit completed work for necessary approvals.
  6. Follow security procedures and practices as mandated by relevant authorities.

Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
QA Expertise - 45%
  • 2-5 years of experience in testing activities and data reconciliation for complex systems.
  • Experience in assisting with test planning and expected outcomes for intricate business systems.
  • Some familiarity with data analysis and reconciliation on large systems.
  • 2-5 years of experience executing test cases for complex systems.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage QA activities effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of Accessibility testing in line with AODA standards.
Technical Proficiency - 35%
  • Understanding of workflow and portfolio management solutions.
  • Familiarity with web-based software platforms.
  • Proficient in using testing tools and issue tracking software.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database tools.
  • Proficient in desktop applications including MS Office and MS Project.
  • Experience with custom and COTS implementations.
  • Basic knowledge of web application development.
  • Familiarity with Accessibility testing tools.

Public Sector Exposure - 5%
  • Experience in the public sector, either as a vendor or under contract with a government agency.
