Position Overview
The Culinary Specialist is dedicated to providing exceptional nourishment for our guests, ensuring they have the energy to fully enjoy their mountain adventures. This role encompasses daily sanitation tasks within the kitchen and includes communication responsibilities.
The Culinary Specialist will be tasked with preparing packed lunches for our ski program, alongside baking pastries and crafting hors d'oeuvres for après ski gatherings. This position is suited for a food enthusiast committed to quality, creativity, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and package lunches for both the field program and lodge guests.
- Bake high-quality pastries for in-lodge dining and lunch services.
- Create delightful après ski snacks for guests.
- Engage in menu planning, ordering, and receiving supplies as needed.
- Procure food and supplies as required.
- Attend all necessary staff and departmental meetings.
- Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Ensure safe and efficient food handling, including knife skills and meal presentation.
- Manage kitchen inventory and dry storage rotation accurately.
- Perform dishwashing duties throughout each shift.
- Conduct daily deep cleaning tasks in the kitchen area.
- Assist fellow lodge team members as required.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food safety and workplace safety practices.
- Support guests in the field as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Food Safe Certification.
- Preferred: Diploma or certificate from a culinary program.
- Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience with diverse exposure.
- Preferred background in luxury hospitality or fine dining.

Work Environment
This culinary role can be demanding and requires a genuine passion for food service and creating memorable guest experiences.
Additional Information
- Employees must arrange their own accommodation and commute to the lodge.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Manual dexterity required for operating job-specific equipment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
