The Market Integrity Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of the financial markets by overseeing trade surveillance and identifying potential violations of market regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and enhancement of a comprehensive cross-assets surveillance framework.
- Conduct thorough trade surveillance to detect alleged violations of market rules and regulations.
- Compile relevant evidence and perform detailed trading analysis.
- Monitor trading activities to ensure compliance with Universal Market Integrity Rules (UMIR).
- Assist in the creation of new detection tools to adapt to evolving trading patterns.
- Collaborate with various teams, including market policy, analytics, and trade review.
- Prepare proposals for new and revised surveillance workflows for senior management review.
- Foster cooperative relationships with regulatory and investigative departments.
- Enhance and refine surveillance processes for crypto-assets.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of reference data, identifying gaps and discrepancies.
- Provide coaching and support to Surveillance Officers as needed.
Completion of the Canadian Securities, Trader Training, and Derivatives Fundamentals courses is required. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is mandatory. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets using business tools. Enrollment in or completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is considered an asset. Familiarity with crypto-assets trading and/or regulation is advantageous. Exposure to programming languages such as Python, Jupyter notebooks, or SQL is beneficial.
