Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Control Systems Technician to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in the maintenance, operation, and repair of various control systems and instrumentation.

Position Type: Regular – Full-Time

Grade: 16

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work on a rotating day shift, including scheduled weekends, and may be required to be on call.
  2. Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical issues that pose safety risks.
  3. Document and report potential repair issues during routine duties.
  4. Attend team meetings as necessary to ensure effective communication.
  5. Manage daily tasks using SAP, including creating work notifications for deficiencies.
  6. Maintain calibration and repair records for all equipment.
  7. Install and configure control networks and process systems in partnership with site programmers.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant codes while installing and repairing equipment.
  9. Calibrate, commission, and troubleshoot various instrumentation devices.
  10. Provide service for environmental and analytical instruments.
  11. Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  12. Maintain cleanliness in work areas and adhere to safety standards.
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  14. Effectively communicate urgent repair issues as they arise.
  15. Adhere to GMP, safety, and HACCP best practices.
  16. Conduct inspections to identify equipment or structural issues.
  17. Manage time efficiently, both personally and for others.
  18. Uphold safety standards in all work areas.

Qualifications:

  1. Must possess an Instrumentation Technician Certificate and an Industrial Electrician license.
  2. Background in electronics and PLCs is essential, with a willingness to pursue further training.
  3. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and a proven track record.
  4. Knowledge of tools and methods for electrical equipment repair.
  5. Experience in maintenance is an asset.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to develop respectful and cooperative working relationships.
  9. Logical reasoning skills to evaluate solutions and approaches.
  10. Familiarity with CMMS (SAP) for daily operations.
  11. Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS programs.
