Canada Rentokil Pest Control South Africa Full time

Immediate Benefits for Full-Time Team Members - No Waiting Period

For detailed information regarding our benefits, please see below.

As a proud member of the Rentokil family of companies, we are the global leader in Pest Management and various services across over 90 countries. We take pride in being a reliable partner to many of the world's foremost brands, serving both consumer and business clients across diverse sectors. Our legacy of excellence drives us to fulfill our mission: "protecting people, enhancing lives, and preserving the planet."

Are you intrigued by the idea of dealing with pests while ensuring customer satisfaction? You might be the perfect fit for our team.

Working with us comes with numerous advantages. Enjoy a company-provided vehicle, fuel, and communication device. Benefit from a 401(k) plan with company matching. You can expect an annual earning potential of $75,000 or more within five years. But it’s more than just financial rewards; it’s about serving with a smile, supporting your colleagues, and making a significant impact. We step in when individuals face challenges they cannot resolve alone, providing expert solutions that uplift their spirits.

Now, let’s talk about you. Are you dedicated and hardworking? Can you follow instructions, adapt to new situations, and tackle challenges? Are you organized, friendly, and driven to succeed? If so, you’re off to a great start.

As a Pest Control Technician, here’s what you can anticipate:
  • You won’t be confined to a desk. You’ll be active and independent, advancing your career with clear opportunities for growth. You’ll represent our company in your local community, with the support of a national brand, ensuring the safety of homes and businesses.
  • Initially, you will undergo several months of training. Once you have acquired the necessary state licenses and certifications, you will take charge of your own clients.
  • You will receive competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits for you and your family. As a team member, you will qualify for a 401(k) with company matching, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a generous student loan repayment program. Your hard work will be rewarded.
  • You will become part of a community — bonus points if you are already a leader in yours. Our connections at Rentokil are strong, and the relationships we build in the communities we serve are exceptional. Our team members contribute through volunteering, donations, scholarships, and more.
  • You will be trained by the best in the industry. You will be compensated while obtaining your licenses, which will benefit you for a lifetime. You’ll also learn how to manage pest issues at home.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Getting hands-on experience as you learn how we care for our customers. You will become proficient in applying our products safely and effectively.
  • Are you a competent driver? As a technician, your workspace will be the cab of your company vehicle, which you will use for calls and take home. The same applies to your company phone. We trust our technicians.
  • You will be responsible for fostering relationships with clients, scheduling and confirming appointments, assisting with sales to existing customers, and expanding our services to new clients.
  • Are you comfortable with technology? No worries. We provide training and support to ensure you are confident using our advanced tools. Strong communication skills are essential for effective emailing, texting, calling, and writing. Occasionally, paperwork will be involved.
  • There is potential for you to advance into a role that aligns with your passions and skills — whether that’s in management, sales, or another opportunity within our company.
Essential qualifications:

To join our team as a Pest Control Technician, you will need to meet certain requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED; or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively in various settings.
  • Basic math skills — adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. You will need to follow instructions for mixing product labels accurately.
  • With our support, you will need to maintain the necessary licenses/certifications as mandated by federal, state, and/or local regulations. A valid driver’s license is also required.
Physical demands of the role:

We want to be transparent about the physical requirements of this position (reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities). Here’s what to expect:

  • You should be able to regularly lift up to 10 lbs. and frequently handle 11–20 lbs., whether that involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning objects.
  • Expect to be active — regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. You will navigate stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles, maintaining balance on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
  • You must be capable of safely operating a motor vehicle and ensuring that it and all other equipment are kept clean.
  • Good vision is necessary for detail-oriented tasks at close distances.
  • Occasionally, you will need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as an OSHA-compliant respirator, and be comfortable working in confined spaces where pests reside.
Work environment:

Pests can inhabit challenging locations — and that’s where we operate. But rest assured, we will equip you with everything you need to perform your duties safely and comfortably.

  • You should be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors in your local climate, utilizing company-provided weather gear.
  • You may encounter mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical currents, heights, fumes, dust, and chemicals, and we will train you on how to handle these conditions safely.
  • You will be working around animals and insects.
  • You should be comfortable working in tight, confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways, such as crawl spaces.

To join our team, you must meet state and federal regulations and company safety standards.

This position offers a base salary plus commission.

· Average compensation exceeding $40k (base + commission) during the first year
· $22.00 per hour during training

Actual annual earnings depend on individual performance, with top technicians earning well over $100k annually.

We seek individuals who aspire to make a difference in the lives of our customers. Are you one of them?

This company maintains a Drug-Free workplace.

We are proud to be Affirmative Action (AA) and Equal Opportunity Employers (EOE), inclusive of veterans and individuals with disabilities.
