Machinist Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at CP. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and charts to determine machining operations and plan the best sequence of operations.
- Set up and operate CNC machine tools to perform precision machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, and drilling.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to the supervisor.
- Complete and maintain inspection reports.
Requirements
- An Inter-Provincial Red Seal in the trade of Machinist is required.
- Strong problem-solving and computer skills.
- Ability to work within strict established safety and work guidelines/rules.
- CPKC operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; must be able to work on various shifts and days off.
